This November has been a month of challenges and blessings for me and my family. To begin with, the whole election thing didn’t work out as I had hoped. As most of you know, I have some beliefs that differ slightly from those of the local masses. Still, in the bigger picture, we are much the same regarding things that count, particularly the value of family, personal friendship, and earth stewardship. Later in the month, we lost a dear friend and family member to a disease I always believed would have a cure by now. Again, in the end, love prevailed. The themes in these poems reflect some of my challenges but also offer rays of hope. Likewise, Thanksgiving allows us all to reflect with gratitude, work some things out, and improve. To rise above all the stuff that doesn’t really matter. I hope this holiday season brings you all the joy and peace you deserve. God bless you all, my dear friends! Doug
