This is a sad time for Diane and me. We want to let you all know we are moving to another country. We have found our dream home, not necessarily perfect, but with potential, in a better, faraway place. This land is also a constitutional democratic republic and is consistently ranked among the happiest countries on earth. It is a country where the rights of people and all religions are respected. Racism and bigotry are nearly nonexistent. Women and minorities are respected and given equal opportunities and pay. Families are important, with paid family leave included. Refugees and immigrants are welcomed and never separated from their children. They know how to care for “the least of us.” Crime is notably low. Universal healthcare replaces complex systems of inequality, including removing children and lower-income families from healthcare to help fund billionaires. Public education, even higher education, is free. Every capable person shares a common mission in defending their country. In fact, excellent education and healthcare are seen as key aspects and expenses of building a strong, resilient, and secure nation. The press remains free, not controlled by the government. Political parties are not used to divide citizens. Politics is not treated as a personal religion. Public servants are held fully accountable for wrongdoing, including sexual misconduct. Culture wars do not hide deeper and more serious issues. Caring for creation and Earth stewardship are priorities, and science is embraced as a gift of God, rather than dismissed to protect political agendas. In fact, many of our current scientists are moving there! “On earth as it is in heaven” means something tangible. It’s about bringing God’s, not man's, selfish rule into our families and lives. To avoid starting wars and instead establish true qualities of heaven—joy and peace—here on our planet. To hold onto hope through all our efforts as partners, for final restoration and the renewal of all creation. To live as one, in care and purpose. Always celebrating goodness, innovation, excellence, and beauty in everyone. And this could be such a beautiful place for us to settle in and enjoy a plentiful life — had today not been April first! Still, all of this can exist here— in our own land. A land that fights against the silent, evil, and dark spirits rising from the earth into our homes, contaminating and sickening our bodies and minds (and this includes radon). A land that cares for its neighbors, just like each of us. This land lives on the hopes and dreams of our hearts. It is our small community that surrounds us, embraces us, and protects beauty, as it should be. God bless you all, my good friends!
