I have been blessed with the rare opportunity to work with many good friends and family in my community to develop beautiful trail systems throughout our beloved mountain valley, including one pathway along the Weber River corridor that intersects the heart of our small city. These walking, biking, and equestrian trails have not only opened up vast stretches of open space but have also been a transformative force in my life. They have the power to calm and heal, turning anxiety and darkness into peace and light. These places have been my personal Walden Pond and Woods, where I can breathe in and contemplate life and purpose. Many of my poems, including those herein, were written or inspired in these sacred wooded confines. I hope you also experience this transformative power and find solace in a similar secret space.
