For me—January has always been my coldest and darkest month. And I’m not referring to the season. But given these challenges, I know that as of today—the painful minutes of darkness begins to fade, and a new light breathes its hope into my heart, mind, and spirit. Such hope would not be possible without my family and friends. And in this endless river of life, I am blessed also to have many miles of you who have become my poetry and lights of happiness. Let us use this season to absorb the warmth of our spirits as a united force and carry that force of light to our neighbors who may need a bit more. Let us spread the word that all are needed, beautiful, strong, and loved. And that combination of powers brings me and everyone, enduring peace.
