The Thaw
winter melts my heart
like wispy snowflakes
sifting through needles
of entwined jade firs
shrouded white spirits
sting my chilled veneer
stirring impatience
for spring’s rebirth
winter takes a toll
but ice absolves time
crystalizing hope
from dark molecules
of liquefied nights
restoring lost warmth
in soft emerald light
love never chills
