Let There Be Light

the sun rises over the mountains
drowning my fears in wanted warmth
nights fade into appointed scents of green
cold dark air plunges as the gold light ascends
a vast ocean of stars reverently bows and fades
replaced by the infinite light of her bright eyes
hope fuses its kind glow within her universe—
a much softer universe where love unifies us
as we walk along its paths of divine warmth
hand in hand—we steadily become the light
and the sun settles behind the mountains
