The Nth River

the final flows of our weary sky-blue rivers
turbid from stretches of exasperated erosion
stirred up in colors of boundless branches
will gracefully empty into an endless ocean
wrapped in yearning hopes of spirits beyond
blending in waves of ancestry and posterity
including every life or creature—we touched
to all unite under one common sapphire sea
like shatterproof siblings—fused in harmony
effervescent in unceasing humanity and love
for things once lost in dark whirlpools of vanity
or pressured hardships of turbulent lifetimes
or drowning words—we could never rescue
will solemnly expunge their deepest secrets
absolved in the embrace of a higher power
with purpose—far beyond any anxious sunset
in this place—we are joined under one sunrise
safe in soothing tears of our heavenly family
for as foot-worn paths and roads always part
our countless rivers—only merge and enlarge
