Colors of Hypocrisy

There is a stark—vivid difference—
between a quiet Christianity of Christ
and the loud Christianity of a country
smeared in colors of money and pride

Between One who ministers kind hope
in vibrant waters of grace and mercy
and one who justifies his fuming power
in the shadows of fear and toxic division

Between a gospel of selfless humility
defined by the strength of peacemakers
and a narcissist who demands fealty
to authority and triumphs through war

Between a divine stewardship to care
for family, neighbors, and our Earth
and a mandate to scuttle our defenses
of privacy, education, and healthcare

Between He who offers healing hands
of empathy to the poor and distressed
and a system that suckles the wealthy
with hungry—parched tears of the lowly

Between the colors of people in the Bible
believers who walked in meek service
and white racist politicians who screech
harsh dominion—ruled by their fake bibles
