protecting a universe—we thought we knew”

Sailing Upon Light
“—I see myself as I look into her deep blue eyes
our hearts melt into clear embraces of eternity
as love rises in white clouds of a brighter hope”

Learning to Listen
“if you become lodged in cracks of despair
learn to listen to your quiet spirit’s guide
and it will bind you to a warmer paradise”

An Impending Storm
“I seem to recall a similar cauldron of desperation
again—it feels like an immense storm is brewing”

Be The Now

sculpting the present moment
as they brush over drab melancholy”

Nature’s Song
“did you hear the earth sigh
beneath her ginger yarns of dawn
have you crystal courage to hear
the harmonies of her sacred song”

My Windswept Refuge
“over scours of vast windswept outlands
spread of my own emotional desertion
stands an oft-ignored and lonely tree”

Her Tears of Water
“I am free to pay water’s price in a bottle,
even if it’s more than 3,000 times greater
in cost— for a similar drink from a tap.”

Life is Hard
“long after all my enraged eruptions end
earthquake shudders soften into silence
penetrating diamonds of harsh hails hush”

My Basement Leftovers
“time to clean my secret escapes of time
old objects from young cinnamon days
strewn in dusty heaps of past adventures…”

My Dream Within Dreams

buried in a hibernaculum of hope
held in a myriad of young dreams…”

from their clear tonics of peace and reassurance”

Religious Climate
“learning to connect
God-given scientific minds
to devout hearts
is enlightening and brings
enduring joy and peace”

My Giant Balloon
“awkward paths of sky
move slow—ahead
of mysterious breaths
in dawn’s lonely air”

My Only Home
“evil minions of the grey and cold rule
within my hideout of emotional numbing
absorbing the season’s warmth and kindness”

The Darkness Between Lights
“I am the forlorn spirit
a burdened dimension
shaped by wintry flows
of an invisible presence”
